Voicemail 901
Getting Started
• Voicemail 901 is set up and ready to go on all new O2 phones.
• If it's been switched off your phone for some reason, just dial 1750 free to reactivate.
Record your Greeting
Let people know they've reached you with your own personal greeting. To record your greeting: • Dial 901 to access your Voicemail, key * and then 3
• Follow the prompts and record your message. It's easy to change it if you don't like it.
Check your messages
• To retrieve your messages at any time, dial 901
How much does it cost?
Calls to 901 are charged as a standard call as per your tariff, unless you are on O2 200, 250, 400 or Max where Voicemail access is free and not part of your inclusive minutes.
How do I switch Voicemail off?
• Dial 1760 free from your mobile to turn your Voicemail off.
Mailbox Settings
You can store up to 40 messages in your mailbox, each up to 4 minutes, for up to 30 days. You will be warned 5 days in advance that messages will be deleted to allow you to note message details if you wish.
Get notified by either text or ring back
Choose whether you would like to be notified of new messages by text or by phone call. To change your method of notification, key * and then 5. .
Call Return
You can return a call directly to someone who has left you a message by simply keying 5 at the end of their message. There's no need to exit Voicemail or fumble round with pen & paper noting the number.
Message Forwarding & Reply
You can forward a message that someone has left you directly to another Voicemail 901 user or send a reply directly to the caller's mailbox by simply keying 7 at the end of the message. You will be asked to attach a note to the message just so the person you're sending it to knows who it's from.
You can also forward messages quickly and easily to more than one person by setting up a distribution list. You can have up to 9 distribution lists each with up to 20 numbers in them. To create a distribution list, dial 901 key * and then 6.
Note: Messages can be sent to any 901 user and are charged at your standard tariff rate for the time spent in 901.
Set up a Voicemail PIN for added security
You can set up a PIN to ensure only you can access your messages. To do this, dial 901, key * and then 5. This will activate mailbox PIN protection meaning you will be asked for your PIN each time you access your Voicemail. To turn it off again, simply dial 901, key * and then 5 and follow the prompts.
To change your PIN at any time dial 901 and key 4.
Having a PIN will also allow you to access your messages from any touch tone phone. To retrieve your messages from any phone: • Dial your O2 mobile number • Interrupt your greeting by keying *
• Enter your PIN & listen to your messages. Send your message notifications to another number
You can get your Voicemail notifications sent to an alternative number (ring back only). To set this up, contact customer services. Once this is done initially you can cancel and reinstate the service yourself through the Voicemail main menu (dialling 901 and keying *).
Note: Calls to an alternate number are charged at the rate for a call dependant on its destination; i.e. mobile to mobile, mobile to landline, O2 to O2, cross network.
Text Templates
You can send a text in response to a Voicemail message. Choose from 9 templates. Simply key 9 after listening to the message to decide which text to send. You are only charged for the time you spend in 901 at your standard tariff rate.
Retrieval Menu
• Key 0 - Pause or continue message
• Key 2 - Save message
• Key 3 - Delete message
• Key 4 - Skip back 5 seconds
• Key 5 - Return the call
• Key 6 - Skip forward 5 seconds
• Key 7 - Forward the message directly to someone else
• Key 8 - Hear the time and date the message was left
• Key 9 - Choose a text reply to send
